CONECCMAR seeks the generation of new scientific knowledge and technology for offshore electric infrastructures of high voltage direct current (HVDC). The project will investigate advanced concepts regarding floating substations, fixed compliant structures for deep see applications, and multi-terminal transnational interconnections with the objective of producing viable technology solutions for highly demanding scenarios. Nowadays, Comunidad de Madrid is a strong reference in the national energy sector and CONECCMAR seeks to contribute to reinforce its leadership in the use of renewable energy sources, the application of power electronics, offshore engineering and the electric energy systems of the future.
Within CONECCMAR, IIT investigate the analysis and control of HVDC links and multi-terminal systems, and their integration in large scale electric energy systems, with focus on the European scenario.
CONECCMAR Project (Ref. No. 59/323466. 9/25) funded by Comunidad de Madrid and co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund within the ERDF Operational Program of Comunidad de Madrid for the period 2021-2027, within the framework of the 2025 call for grants to contribute to the improvement of public-private cooperation in R&D&I through consortium projects with a knock-on effect.
